It's not too often I get to hang out with my buddies. These days, TIME
seems to be the only thing in short supply. That's why it was such a
treat to get some War Room lounging at Ron's this past weekend
(2.12.05) Ron refers to his basement as The War Room simply because
every single square inch of the place is dedicated to his favorite
subjects: military models (mostly 1/35th armor), military toys,
airsoft, books, camouflage, war relics, flags, medals... everything a
military geek could want. PLUS - a refrigerator full of beer.
What made the evening even more special was a visit from our good
friend, "Steve". Steve's real identity is classified so I've changed
his name as per his instructions. Anyway, what I CAN tell you is that
Steve is an operator working in Iraq and stayed in New York for a few
days while back for a quick visit. I was lucky enough to have some free
time and got myself right over to The War Room for some laughs and a
few beers. It wasn't long before all the goodies were out and I'm glad
I brought my trusty Nikon to get some cool shots of the silliness!
As is his nature, Steve brought us back some great gifts. Among them
was this splendid furniture for a PPSH 41!!! If that wasn't enough, he
also gave me this wonderful find... a 3 cell chi-com style chest rig.
It's made of nylon as opposed to the usual canvas type I'm so used to
seeing. I've never seen this kind before and I was feeling sorry i
didn't get Steve something more than just a 12 pack of coors light! Not
sure what the letters stand for but I surely don't give a shit either!
Adds character!!!
This awesome flag was another gift - both Ron and I got one each. This
is the official issue flag issued to "The Boys" overseas. into my
workshop it goes!!! Steve always has nice stuff for us; shemaghs,
bayonets, ammo cans, etc. All sorts of nice things!
It's great to see a real operator so into airsoft. Steve plans on
getting a STG44 for a complete WWII Waffen SS impression. For as long
as I've known him, he has always enjoyed all the cool stuff like
models, gear, toys... we all sat on the floor like kids and played with
all tis shit for hours. It never seems to get boring! Ron is always
happy to accommodate with whatever he has. We just took everything out
and tossed it all over the floor - except the beer. We managed to keep
that upright!

Ron has like - I don't know - 12 or 14 pairs of boots. We had some good
"boot talk" and I think I missed half of it as I tried on my new chest
rig. Hope he does some boot review for wargear!

That's a hint, jerkie!

THIS insane thing was a gift for Ron. Mich helmet - Both the Danzig skull and the camo job were done by hand from a soldier over in Iraq.

Story goes; because of the skull, the soldier couldn't turn it in so it found itself in Steve's "Team House". Steve nabbed it and, well... this lucky bastards got it! Good for him!

One of Ron's tricked out M4s. Heavy but a pleasure to hold.
The 2 on the left are pics of my AK103 project. The 2 on the right show Rons M16 with M203 'nade launcher. This is for an SAS impression of which I'm sure we'll see plenty of pictures. I love my Nikon!

Ron's secret to getting everyone drunk: go to the fridge for another look at the stuka. While you're there you might as well grab another beer!

The markings had to be special ordered!!!

Gotta keep your head down... never know when someone might have to nuetralize a sofa pillow! I just know I'm gonna get an email about my pants. They are Mauritanian Lizard. French pattern in desert colors in a US BDU cut. There... happy!?!?!
What's better than a shitload of quality pistols? A shitload of quality pistols and a whole bunch of airsoft magazines from Japan!!!
Steve's Gerber. Cool! Reminds me of an SAS dagger.
Ron's new body armour - MOLLE system. Pouches for mags, grenades, sidearm, and personal items. Nice looking gear!
Steve's body armour. NOT airsoft!

Everyone wants a turn with the bad ass M4!

*No nazis here... the flag is just for fun.

Long Island Airsoft (Ron's store) now carries the line of Strider knives. Expensive but probably the best knives on the market right now. As is their nature, they manage to sell these at an incredible price. Not bad for an airsoft store! If you're interested in purchasing one of these fine knives, you can contact them at sales@islandairsoft.net
Rons German helmet. He has another with an oakleaf cover but it's at his store. This one is worth a fortune! Surrounding it are the many awards won for modeling excellence.
Above it is a flag made from
the official flag maker of Bagdhad. Recently, the place that made this was destroyed by insurgents. Unfortunate to say the least.
Here's Steve's Luger; a gift from Long Island Airsoft. The Waffen SS dot pattern material is Steve's. It's repro as is the partizan hunter badge. Cool photo given the lighting. Thanks Adobe Photoshop!
Yup... Panzer IV - why the hell not?!?!?!
Wanted to share these pics with you and I hope you enjoyed them. Next time I hang out in the war room to play with all the coolest toys I'll be sure to post another page of all the goodies!
