Incredible. A subject so uninteresting to most has filled up a large portion of my life with a hobby that seems to grow without intention. In my youth, I looked at everything camouflaged with a thrilled eye. Every time the television aired "The Wild Geese" or "Where Eagles Dare" I stayed riveted to the screen waiting to catch a glimpse of a camo uniform. Any vehicle that wasn't painted in camouflage colors was dull and boring and every anti-aircraft had to have plenty of camouflage netting. When Christmas or my birthday rolled around, you could be sure a camo "anything" would be on the wish list.
I must have been only fifteen when I wandered into a local hobby shop looking for some supplies when I met a fella behind the counter wearing a French lizard pattern smock. My jaw dropped when I learned that he collected some camo and militaria and that there were so many camo patterns throughout the world. Unconsiously I was hooked and ever since I have tried to aquire some of these uniforms and now I have incorporated my love for camo along with my other hobbies; airsoft, photography, gear collecting, etc.
Ron Volstad

Not mentioning this man would be a trajedy. He is one of the greatest military uniform illustrators of our time. I studied his work from the time I bought my first Squadron/Signals publication. His work inspired me to become an artist and also fueled my love for camouflage and all things military. Since I started this website I have made it my goal to eventually contact Ron and hopefully get an adequate interview with him. Other artists are worth mentioning like Malcolm McGreggor and Simon McCouaig but no other artist had as much impact on me as much as Ron Volstad. Some of his paintings hang on the wall of my workshop as a symbol of perfection and inspire me to do the best work possible.

My collection.

Here I'll share with you some of the choice pieces from my collection of camo goods. I'll try to include comparisons of patterns, brief history details, and close-ups of some of the worlds most famous camouflage uniforms.

Paintings

This is sort of a virtual portfolio of some of my paintings. They have all been digitally rendered in either Photoshop or Painter. Suffice it to say that most are not finals but more like ongoing studies which change from time to time. Under no circumstances are these to be used without permission and all copyright laws apply.

Models, Vehicles, and Miscellaneous.

I build 1/35th scale armour and I know few freinds that do as well. Here I'll show some pics of our camouflage work on the kits and also photos of real vehicles as well.
