Roman Stepanov's Spetsnaz Photos - Part II

yet more awesome images from Roman

This time we take to the woods for some good "forest" Training. Here again we see the Russian elite going through thier paces and training the way they fight. Off to a nice start here - Sniper with Dragunov taking careful aim.
A nice comparison - on the left the same trooper now has an AK with grenade launcher. He wears a US woodland copy while the hooded gent on the right wears the distincly Russian VSR pattern. A splendid study in camo!
Strange... while he is wearing a new type M21 or M22 assault vest, we can see that he's also carrying and old style AK mag pouch on the attached belt. Perhaps it is being used as a dump pouch for spent mags.

This vest looks like it's made of 100% cotton. Judging by the balaclava, it's not new issue. An intersting thing to note - The AK103 is still a new weapon and yet the old style sling is being used. It seems very typical now - using old with the new. I would imagine there are thousands of things like this sling just kicking around.

Another woodland-type camo uniform. I wonder why so many western patterns have become indigenous to Russia. This is an army with countless patterns of thier own.

The same operators work over and over again to get it just right. No other training can prepare them for the very real tasks they must undertake. Practice makes perfect.
Again, very big thanks go to Mr. Roman Stepanov. These photos are an incredible addition to the AK Files and I look forward to posting anything else he sends me!
