Like all Osprey books, this one is excellent. What makes it extra special to me is the subject matter. Anything documented regarding this conflict is usually sought after by many collectors of modern Russian militaria and military modelers as well.

I'm sure it has served as reference for thousands and although almost 20 years old, this book still stands as a superb guide for many details from both the Russian and Afghani sides. I'm sure it will for many years to come.

The color plates from Ron Volstad are astounding as usual. Overall this is a great addition to any Russofile's library and should be considered a must have for those modeling the 80's war in scale.
